Checkup and cleaning
Through our dental clinic services, we advise our customers to have a dental checkup twice a year. During a checkup, one of our dentists examines the gums and teeth for any disease or irregularity and if necessary, proceeds with an x-ray. A checkup appointment also includes teeth cleaning for the removal of any plaque and of course teeth polishing. Then our dentist demonstrates the use of dental floss or interdental brushes according to your needs so that you can take care of your oral health at home.
Cosmetic Dentistry in Limassol, Cyprus
Are you self-conscious about your yellowish teeth? You can get a brighter smile with a single in-office treatment.
Many factors can lead to yellow, stained, or discoloured teeth. These factors include:
- Beverages like tea, coffee, sodas, wine or drinks with artificial flavours and colours
- Genetics – for some people teeth discolouration is inevitable
- Several diseases and medications
- Poor dental hygiene
Our in-office bleaching treatment takes approximately 60-90 minutes and the procedure is broken down into 2 to 3 sessions of 15 minutes each.
Firstly, our Limassol dentists will discuss the desirable shade with you. Once this is settled, the dentist will make sure that your gums are protected by placing a rubber gum protector. Then they will apply the Hydrogen peroxide gel and will have the UV light aimed at your teeth. After 15 to 20 minutes the gel will be removed, and the same procedure will be repeated 2-3 times.
When the procedure is finished the dentist applies fluoride gel to reduce the possible teeth post-treatment sensitivity. The results are immediately effective but at first, your teeth might appear brighter and whiter than the actual result.
Dental veneers are thin coverings used to fix the appearance of teeth. They are only placed on the front part of the teeth to change their size, colour, and shape. This cosmetic dentistry treatment helps hide gaps between teeth and covers chipped, discoloured or uneven teeth with a natural-looking final result.
You can protect your damaged teeth and gain a new healthy smile with our dental crown treatment. Dental crowns can be used in both cosmetic and restorative dentistry. A dental crown is a cap that is placed on top of the tooth to protect it and fix its appearance. These crowns are custom-made and are created in a dental lab. In cosmetic dentistry, dental crowns are preferable to dental veneers when there is already damage to the teeth. Our dental clinic offers porcelain and zirconia crowns which you can choose from after a consultation with one of our dentists.
Our dental clinic offers a range of laser dentistry services both for cosmetic and restorative reasons.
- Gum reshaping and treating a gummy smile.
- Treating gum disease and inflammation.
- Treating tooth hypersensitivity.
- Treating root canal infections.
- Treating tongue-tie and lip-tie.
- Treating tooth decay.
Dental inlays and onlays
Dental inlays or onlays are used on partly damaged teeth that cannot be treated with dental fillings because the cavity is too big. An inlay is used to fill a small area of the tooth while an onlay is used for a larger area, usually the top part of the tooth.
This treatment is very beneficial as the custom-made inlays or onlays can last up to 30 years, they provide a better appearance to the tooth, make the tooth strong again and are better than fillings in terms of resistance.
We use dental fillings to fix minor damages on teeth. These damages may include a tooth cavity, decay, or fracture. Dental fillings can also be used to reshape a tooth that was chipped. Teeth that have been worn out due to nail-biting or grinding can also be restored using dental fillings.
Dental bridges are used as a treatment for one or more missing teeth that need restoring and are between healthy teeth. The teeth that surround the missing tooth or teeth get dental crowns and a fake tooth is anchored to the crowns creating a ‘bridge’.
Root canal treatment
Do you feel pain when you bite, chew or drink something hot or cold? Do you have swollen gums or bleeding around a tooth? Then you might need a root canal treatment.
During this treatment one of our Limassol dentists makes an opening in the tooth, the infection is removed, and the root canal gets cleaned. Then, the canal is filled with a permanent material and the opening that was previously made is filled with dental filling. A new crown is then cemented on top of the filling. As scary as this might sound to some, you must trust the delicate touch of our experienced dentists.
Dental implants are placed when there is permanent damage to a tooth or when a retained baby tooth needs to be extracted leaving a hole. Dental implants act as the root of a missing tooth.
As a first stage, the damaged tooth is removed, and the jawbone is grafted if needed. Then, the dental implant is placed into the jawbone. The bone is left to rest and heal tightly around the implant so that we can move to phase two. During phase two of the dental implant treatment, the abutment is placed and a custom-made bridge or crown finally sits on the abutment.
Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Wisdom teeth can cause a lot of dental problems when they are not extracted in time. It is very important to get your wisdom teeth checked as soon as you feel that something is wrong. Unlike other teeth, surgery is needed for the extraction of wisdom teeth. Limassol dentists use local or general anesthesia, according to each patient’s needs and background.
